HekCentrik Films has begun development of an AI Verticals Series with a planned launch of 100 episodes. The series, aimed at a teen/young adult audience, will be fully AI visual with human involvement in other areas such as voice overs. This will be the company's first foray into AI production as we believe AI should enhance not replace the creative workflow.
The director, producers and lead actor of upcoming Uganda-set film attended meetings with Ms Diana Kyaremera Musevenii, Ministry of Tourism, Kiira Motors, et al, to discuss the tourism opportunities of shooting an international film in the country. Further to showcasing the beautiful landscapes and vibrant city life, attracting international film productions will boost the local industry through skill transfer, job creation, and revenue generation for service providers across numerous sectors.
A pan-African, UK production feature film set in Uganda has been announced with cast from around 8 African countries, the UK and USA. The movie, written and to be directed by Niyi Towolawi, has mostly heads of departments from the diaspora, including several of Ugandan origin. Present in-person at the live broadcast press conference at Next Media, Kampala, were the producers, director and lead actor, reputable Hollywood veteran, Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
As part of our commitment to champion African storytelling on the global scene, Niyi Towolawi was a delegate at the African Creative Economy Lens conference in Kigali, hosted by Africa in Colours. Discussions included harnessing Africa's young population in the creative sector, the continent's position on the global space, and accessibility to funding.
